Bad driving - caught in the act
I have been reading with considerable interest the article 'The peril of other drivers'.
I too ride a motorcycle, and have for some time now had a video camera mounted on my motorbike to record the bad driving habits of some people.
About a year ago, due to the dangerous nature of some of this driving, I decided to take it to the next level: I reported a dangerous overtaking incident to local police who took down my details.
They referred me to Wellington (Ministry of Transport, from memory).
I was advised to email the details but because of the lack of ability to include either a video clip or still shots I was unable to provide proof of what I was complaining about.
I did, however, have and was quite willing to provide them but I never heard back from anyone.
It seems nobody is interested enough, nor appreciates the 'heads up' that the general driving public can offer.
The above is one of the latest photos from a video grab. Do you see anything wrong with this picture?
The location is a little difficult to pinpoint on the map, but locals will recognise it as being just north of Pegasus turnoff, outside Christchurch, on the overtaking lanes on the straight.
