Pop star Rihanna can afford the odd Porsche or two but she won't have to buy one after her record company bought her a 911 Turbo S for Christmas.

The 24-year-old posted photos of the car on Instagam, tweeting ''Turbo on dat a$$. All I see is signs, all I see is dolla $ign$'' which is not surprising considering the car retails for NZ$385,000 in New Zealand.

It is not the first time she has owned a Porsche, with motoring website Torque News reporting she previously bought a 997 Turbo that featured in her 2008 music video for Take a Bow while another vehicle she is known to have purchased is the six-litre V8-powered Chevrolet Suburban LTZ.

Her record company - Roc Nation - perhaps thought their star couldn't afford a car for the 20-car parking lot that came with the 1000 square metre seven-bedroom mansion she recently outlayed US$12 million (NZ$14.6m) for in Pacific Palisades, Los Angeles. There should have been at least one vehicle there - a Jeep Wrangler which Roc Nation bought her last year when Rihanna was named best-selling digital artist of all time.

For motoring fans who don't follow music, Rihanna, a Barbadian, is both a singer and actress. She has released seven albums, accumulating an incredible 60 million digital downloads as well as selling 25 million albums worldwide.
