Nissan revealed its Navara-based Attack concept.

Nissan has gone on the attack with a new muscular Navara concept.

The Japanese brand has unveiled a Navara-based concept, the Frontier Attack (Frontier is Nissan's international name for the Navara), at the  2017 Buenos Aires motor show in Argentina.

According to Nissan, the specially-prepared Frontier is inspired by monster trucks, with the Japanese car maker's South American operation monitoring public reaction to the concept with a view to introducing a production version.

The Frontier Attack rolls on more aggressive looking wheels and tyres and also has suspension that has been raised by 40mm over the regular Navara, leading Nissan's designers to nickname it "'The Beast".

Amped-up styling is further fuelled by bright red paint with a black bonnet, roof, sports bar and side steps. Otherwise the Attack stays fairly true to the regular Navara with a few extras like roof racks added from Nissan's accessory catalogue.

Power comes from the same 140kW/450Nm 2.3-litre twin-turbocharged diesel engine with a coil-sprung rear-axle and an electronically engaged 4x4 system from the standard Navara, while images show an automatic transmission

The interior is also dressed up with a special Attack interior including black cloth and leather seat trim with red contrast stitching and monogrammed Attack logos and red plastic highlights across the dash and centre console.
