Embattled Top Gear presenter Jeremy Clarkson is facing further pressure, as his wife Frances has reportedly decided to divorce him after two decades of marriage.

The couple's relationship has been under growing strain for some time, following claims Clarkson had been unfaithful throughout their marriage, The Daily Mail reported.

The pair have been living apart for three years.

A source told the Mail that Clarkson's wife last month went on holiday to Majorca with her best friend to celebrate the divorce.

"Apparently Francie had a really jolly boozy time because she is finally getting a divorce from Jeremy and she was celebrating that," the source said.

"All her friends have been waiting for years for her to do it and she finally has."

Another source denied Clarkson had divorced, and emphasised he remained married to his wife for now.

When the Mail asked if he was "getting divorced", the source replied, "getting [divorced] and [being] divorced are different".

Frances Clarkson told the paper she was unwilling to comment, and refused to confirm or deny the story.

Clarkson is alleged to have struck up a relationship with Phillipa Sage, who has worked on Top Gear as an events organiser, The Telegraph reported.

They were first spotted together in 2011 and were photographed kissing on a beach holiday in Greece last year.

The news caps off a nightmare week for Clarkson, who is on his final warning with the BBC after controversy following his use of the n-word in unaired footage

In a weekly newspaper column, Clarkson said he had run out of chances and would be sacked if he ever made an offensive remark again.
