Rolling car hits mum and child then nearly squashes them
A mum and child have survived a fall of several metres after being smashed through iron railings by an out-of-control SUV in China.
The woman, and her child, were standing near the railings above an entrance ramp to an underground garage when the vehicle rolled back and slammed them through the railings.
Even after surviving the fall the danger had not passed as the SUV teetered then fell to the ground on its roof narrowly missing the woman as she crawled to safety.
"I wanted to stand up, but I could not," she said.
"I quickly crawled to (my child) and held him up. I was freaked out then."
A police officer, Qu Jingyun, explained that the driver, who was going uphill had gone the wrong way.
"After driving in a wrong way, (the driver) failed to start the engine after two attempts, which caused her (to get) upset and the vehicle slid backward."
