Short of enough cash to buy a McLaren F1?

Then why not build your own like Jacek Mazur has done over the past eight years.

The self-described amateur mechanic from Poland is a supercar replica car building nut, having previously built a Ferrari Testarossa, a Lamborghini Countach and a Porsche 911.

But for Mazur, his McLaren replica is his greatest build yet and cost just NZ$45,000 compared to the real deal which will set you back several million.

With an Audi V8 power plant, Mazur claims the car's top speed is 320kmh.

Mazur said he is treated like a Hollywood star when he takes the car out for a drive.

An added extra is the car's small fourth seat as a tribute to diminutive Top Gear host Richard Hammond.
