Property developers are trying to woo investors with a need for speed by promising free Lamborghinis with the purchase of penthouse apartments.

Dubai-based Damac properties is trying to sell luxury apartments in unfinished buildings in the middle east.

One project, the Damac Residenze at Dubai Marina, is not set to be completed until 2017, with three-bedroom apartments currently for sale at about NZ$18.3 million.

Well-heeled buyers can collect a Lamborghini Aventador Roadster with the purchase of a penthouse apartment, while more grounded buyers can settle for a complimentary BMW or Mini for the garage.

In a statement on the company's website Damac vice president Niall McLoughlin says the promotion is timed to coincide with the Dubai Shopping Festival, and will close after one month.

''We see some of the best results of the year during this time,'' McLoughlin says,

''Guaranteeing a brand new 2014 Lamborghini, BMW or Mini Cooper with purchases in select units is an exciting incentive which many international visitors to Dubai during this period really appreciate.''

Damac says the offer applies to all luxury apartments purchased before February 2 as part of Dubai's annual month-long shopping festival.
