A street-legal replica of Batman's Tumbler vehicle from The Dark Knight is to attempt the 4800 kilometre Gumball Rally across Europe later this month.
A Saudi Arabian outfit known as Team Galag began the project soon after their Mercedes-Benz SLS Roadster and Lamborghini Aventador finished the 2012 event in Los Angeles.
Not content to drive an ordinary old supercar in the 2013 event which begins on May 18 in Copenhagen, Denmark, Team Galag said they wanted to "bring something new to the table, something that hadn't been on the Gumball 3000."
And money was obviously not a problem for the event which takes in 13 countries in six days to the finish at Monte Carlo just before Formula One's Monaco Grand Prix.
The scale replica Tumbler is 5.3 metres long, will weigh in at 2.5 tonnes and has been built "from the ground up to survive the 3000 mile (4800km) journey and much more".
Dubbed the TG1, this custom ride, built with the help of Parker Brothers Concepts, features a 750 horsepower twin turbo 24-valve 3.8-litre V6 and full carbon fibre body while ceramic brakes provide the stopping power.
Team Galag boasts the TG1 will have a top speed of 200 mph (321 kmh) with expected acceleration times of 0-60mph (96.5 kmh) in 2.68 seconds and 0-100mph (160.9 kmh) in 5.65 seconds.
Website CarBuzz.com reports that stars joining Team Galag on the run will include David Hasselhoff, Tony Hawk, Xzibit and F1 star Kimi Raikonen.
