There have been some horror movies about car racing, with pictures like Driven more deserving of the title ''Drivel'' than anything else

Even Steve McQueen's famous Le Mans didn't put many bums on seats despite later becoming a cult picture.

Now at last, in the form of Ron Howard's ''Rush'' someone might just have got the concept right.

Featuring the 1976 Formula 1 World Championship, in particular the battle between Ferrari's cruelly burned Niki Lauda and McLaren's archetypal playboy, James Hunt, 'Rush' really looks the part and its makers have just released this preview clip, or rush, to use another meaning for the word.

Daniel Brühl  plays Lauda and Aussie Chris Hemsworth  takes on the Hunt part very convincing from the short clip which shows some very effective makeup work for Brühl who of course has to play Lauda before and after his crash.

The movie is released on October 10 in New Zealand.
