LABOUR LEADER: David Cunliffe

Labour labelled yesterday's Budget the "Fudge-it Budget", and says the Government's plan does not go far enough to help families and first home buyers.

Labour leader David Cunliffe was live online with us today, answering your questions about what Labour would do differently.

His party has already announced a number of its own policies, including extending paid parental leave to 26 weeks - two months longer than the 18 weeks announced by National.

Labour would also allow the Reserve Bank to alter Kiwisaver contribution rates as an alternative to changes in interest rates, to keep mortgage costs down.

Alongside a capital gains tax, Labour has announced its KiwiBuild housing policy, universal KiwiSaver and said it would reduce costs to businesses through NZ Power.
