Deja vu costly for moped rule breaker
A Temuka youth has broken almost every rule while riding a moped scooter.
The 17-year-old was stopped by police at 10.45pm on Church St, Timaru, last night after he was seen riding his scooter with no lights on.
He was also processed for excess breath alcohol and blew 453mcg. He was found to have no licence or helmet, and had a passenger on board.
The youth was forbidden to drive.
However, two hours later he was stopped again by police - for having no lights on. He, again, had no helmet and was riding with a passenger. He was processed for EBA and blew 233mcg.
His scooter was seized and he was issued with infringement notices.
