A 60-year-old woman suffering from Alzheimer's has been found after being reported missing yesterday afternoon.

Robyn Wilson went missing after going for a walk from her home in Rifleman Lane, Paraparaumu Beach at about 4.15pm yesterday.

She was found by search and rescue staff in swampland off Manley St, Paraparaumu Beach at about 11.30am, in knee-deep water.

Senior Sergeant Anita Dixon said Wilson was unable to say to those who found her where she had been or how long she had been in the swamp.

She was taken to Wellington Hospital for observation. Apart from being cold, she appeared to be well, Dixon said.
