Woman 'seriously injured' in house fire
A woman is seriously injured in Middlemore Hospital after a house fire in Auckland last night.
Firefighters were called to a unit complex in Mount Wellington at 9.30pm.
A female from the property suffered burns, Fire Service northern communications shift manager Paul Radden said.
"On the scene firefighters administered first aid and we currently have investigators finding out what caused the fire."
It was a busy night for Auckland's ambulance services, said St John duty team manager Tennille Lawrence.
At 10.10pm staff were called to a car crash on the Southern Motorway in Takinini, where a patient was transferred to Middlemore Hospital in a serious condition.
Later, at 1.36am, an ambulance attended a Clover Park car accident where a patient was also transferred to Middlemore Hospital with serious injuries.
