Auckland emergency services have been dealing with a spate of car crashes around the region.

Ambulance Northern Communications team manager Norm Ngatai said a patient had to be airlifted to Middlemore Hospital in a serious condition after their car went onto the railway tracks in Glenbrook in South Auckland.

The car went off the road, down a bank and onto the railway tracks on Brookside Rd about 7.20pm, Ngatai said.

Emergency services also responded to a crash involving two cars on the corner of Jericho Rd and Harrisville Rd in Pukekohe this evening.

Fire fighters had to cut one person out of the car and two people were taken to Middlemore Hospital with moderate injuries, he said.

Earlier this evening a crash in Belmont on the North Shore left one person with minor injuries and one person with moderate injuries.

And a crash on the northbound side of the Southern Motorway between Mt Wellington and the Ellerslie-Panmure Highway left three people with minor injuries, Ngatai said.
