Police are investigating after a body was found on an Auckland beach this morning.

The incident at Ladies Bay in St Heliers was reported by a member of the public at 7.40am.
The body was found between the low tide and high tide mark.
It was unknown how the body came to be on the beach.
"We are currently working through what we've got," said a police officer at the scene.
The identity of the dead person has not been confirmed.
Police are mounting a search of the beach.
The upper portion of Cliff Rd and the eastern end of the beach have been cordoned off.
Cliff View Apartment host Geoff Annesley-Smith said there were "about half a dozen police cars and a couple of ambulances" at the scene.
He said police had cordoned off Achilles Point and there was a lot of activity taking place.
