Police are investigating the death of a Napier man.
The 44-year-old was found dead when ambulance staff were called to his Coverdale St home in the suburb of Onekawa just before 3.30pm yesterday.
Detective senior sergeant Dave de Lange said it was an unexplained death at this stage.
Police were carrying out a scene investigation and interviewing a number of people. An autopsy would be performed on the deceased, de Lange said.
"Once these tasks have been completed we expect to be able to establish the cause of death and have a clearer understanding of events before his death."
