Sister's plea for help

The sister of a Lower Hutt woman who fell to her death from a Surfer’s Paradise balcony has made a heartfelt plea for information regarding the last hours of her sister’s life.

Marreza Wright, 23, said that Warriena Tagpuno Wright was all she had in the world.

A visibly upset Wright talked lovingly about her sister Rrie, who she said was a very private person and would hate all the media attention.

''We really only had each other most of the time.''

It was hard for her to talk about Rrie because she was ''the most important person in her world.

''She was a beautiful, intelligent and caring person who was not only my sister but my best friend,'' she said.

Warriena stood by her sister and the pair were constantly pulling funny practical jokes on each other.''She kept me and my friends entertained and happy.''

Warriena was always looking after the family - she was like the mother in the family  and her mother the child, she said.

''She made sure I was OK and she was responsible.''

It was hard for her family not knowing what happened to her sister in the last hours of her life, she said.

Wright did not want to talk about her sister’s experience on Tinder but did say she was excited to be attending her close friend's wedding in Australia.

While on holiday Warriena had kept in constant contact with her sister - the pair last spoke last Thursday night about fixing the oil leak in her car.

Warriena's friends had been very supportive to the family and her death had been hard on everyone, she said. She would stay as long as she was needed in Australia but all she really wanted to was to take her sister home.

This week police made an appeal for public help to track the movements of Wright in efforts to find out whether she was pushed to her death last week.

Gable Tostee, 28, who has boasted online about 150 sexual encounters, is understood to be the last person to see Warriena Tagpuno Wright, 26,  alive. He is still refusing to talk to police.

Wright died early on Friday after spending the night with Tostee, whom she is understood to have met through dating app Tinder.

He was not there when police arrived at the scene, and has denied anything to do with Wright's death in his various online postings.

Footage emerged this week that showed Tostee had put surveillance cameras inside his previous home.

He took to Facebook to say he did not have any cameras in the apartment in Surfers Paradise from which Wright fell on Friday morning.

Forensic investigators completed their sweep of his apartment on Tuesday,  but a cherry picker was brought in by detectives yesterday to examine the balcony.
