Critically injured man found on footpath
Police are investigating how a man found with life threatening injuries on the side of an Auckland road came to grief.
The 54-year-old was found unconscious on the footpath of Church St, Otahuhu, with serious head injuries at 3am today.
Police believe he was walking home after a night spent socialising with family at Princes St, Otahuhu, just 1km away from where he was found.
The man was taken to Auckland Hospital where he is in a critical condition.
Police want to hear from anyone who know anything about the incident or may have seen the victim prior to him sustaining the injuries.
The victim is described as a Maori, about 1.8m tall and medium build.
He was wearing a pink and blue striped, long sleeved, collared shirt and khaki pants and sneakers.
