South Auckland Lotto win tops $20 million
The fourth-largest ever Big Wednesday winner has gone to a lucky Pukekohe ticket holder.
A ticket bought in the South Auckland town won more than $20 million in last night's Big Wednesday draw, just days after $1m went to the same area in Saturday’s Lotto draw.
The winning winning ticket was sold at Countdown Pukekohe South.
The ticket-holder won $20,048,756 for the first division prize and a further $197,319 for second division.
‘‘The lucky Big Wednesday player will be thinking twice about whether they need to go to work tomorrow,’’ Lotto NZ head of corporate communications Emilia Mazur said.
‘‘We can’t wait to find out who New Zealand’s latest multi-millionaire is.’’
It is the fourth largest Big Wednesday win by an individual ticket.
The largest haul was $36.9m, by a Masterton family in 2009.
