Teen who had public group sex sentenced

A 17-year-old woman who last year admitted an indecency charge for taking part in public group sex has had almost all the details of her sentencing suppressed.
Christchurch District Court Judge Jane Farish imposed the strict conditions at the sentencing session today, setting out what reporters were permitted to publish.
All of the submissions were suppressed, as well as the teenager's name. Reporters were permitted to publish her age and the nature of the charges and the sentence.
She had admitted doing an indecent act in a public place, possession of a cannabis pipe, theft, and possession of a class B drug, cannabis resin.
She was released on supervision for six months with a special condition that she undertake assessment, treatment, or counselling as required.
