Fountain wee woman hands herself in

LATEST: An embarrassed 18-year-old filmed by security cameras as she pulled down her pants and urinated in a cathedral fountain during a night out has handed herself in to Napier police.
The wee episode took place at 10.32pm last Thursday.
Initial shots showed the young woman splashing about in the St John's Cathedral fountain in Hastings St.
But the next few frames had police sitting up straighter as the young woman was shown squatting down in the fountain and relieving herself.
Her mother spotted pictures taken from security camera footage and released to the public yesterday.
"She brought them to her daughter's attention," senior constable Shane Gibson said this morning.
"The young lady came in this morning and handed herself in. She is very embarrassed and very upset. She was very apologetic,'' Mr Gibson said.
Police let her off with a warning.
The incident is reminiscent of the so-called 'Piddler on the Roof' who appeared in Napier District Court a year ago after being filmed urinating on parking meters.
