Teen forced into car, pack-raped by trio

Police in Morrinsville are investigating the pack rape of a teenager at the weekend.
The 16-year-old girl was walking home alone along Page Street in the early hours of Saturday morning when she was approached by three men in a dark coloured station wagon.
The teenager, who had been reportedly out drinking with friends, was forced into the vehicle and raped by all three men.
It is the fourth rape in the Waikato district in recent months, and comes just days after Hamilton police revealed a serial rapist was on the loose in Hamilton.
However, Morrinsville police don't believe the rape is connected with the three others. The investigation into those complaints has been dubbed Operation Phil by Hamilton police.
In Saturday's rape, the men are described as caucasian, mid 20s and of "fat build", while the rapist involved in Operation Phil is aged between 18 and 30 with fair hair. Those rapes occurred in April, May and July.
Detective Craig Gordon said the victim of Saturday's rape was "deeply traumatised" by the incident and police are appealing for people who may have seen any suspicious people or vehicles around Morrinsville township about 5am to contact them.
