Wellington bus commuters faced delays this morning after a power failure between the Basin Reserve and Courtenay Place disabled trolley buses.
Go Wellington spokeswoman Siobhan O'Donovan said a power failure in the Hataitai bus tunnel meant buses were diverted through the Mt Victoria Tunnel.
The power outage also affected buses moving any further towards the city centre, with problems from the Basin Reserve along Kent and Cambridge Terraces and Courtenay Place.
Island Bay and other eastern suburb bus routes were affected.
Power was restored around 9am and services are now running again.
