Erebus - remembering the victims

REMEMBERED: Scott Base Manager Peter Brookman lays a wreath on the 20th anniversary of the Erebus accident at the Mt Erebus memorial to the 1979 crash.

On November 29, 1979, an Air New Zealand plane smashed into Mt Erebus, killing all 257 people on board, including 200 New Zealanders, 24 Japanese, 22 Americans, six Britons, two Canadians, one Australian, one French and one Swiss. This is the toll from the ill-fated flight TE901.
