Two women killed in a head-on crash near Taupo during Labour Weekend have been named by police.
Myra (Joy) Joyce Goodley, 79, of Taupo, and Hendrika (Ricky) Fox, 53, of New Plymouth, died after a collision on State Highway 1 at Five Mile Bay on October 24.
Police said Ms Goodley's Suzuki Swift crossed the centre line crashing into a Toyota Rav4 in which Mrs Fox was a passenger.
Police said inquiries suggested fatigue or a medical problem may have contributed to the crash.
