Prince Edward and the penguin
Relevant offers
Prince Edward proved unflappable during a meet-and-greet with a penguin soon after arriving in Christchurch yesterday.
The Queen's youngest son came face to flipper with Austin, a little blue penguin at the International Antarctic Centre.
Unlike Austin, the prince said he would keep his arms to his sides. The centre was Edward's first official visit after arriving yesterday afternoon.
Last night, the prince presented Duke of Edinburgh Hillary Awards at St Andrew's College. Today, he will attend another Duke of Edinburgh award ceremony at Linwood College, and will lunch with Christchurch Mayor Bob Parker before flying to Wellington.
