Man found dead in Waikato River

An 82-year-old man has been found dead in the Waikato River.
The man was reported missing from his home in the Hamilton suburb of Beerescourt about 12.30am today and was found in the nearby river by police a short time later, Inspector Lou Alofa of northern police communications said.
Mr Alofa said the death did not appear to be suspicious, but police inquiries were yet to be completed.
