The 15th Unicycling World Championships will be held in Wellington from December 28, with 475 competitors from 22 countries expected.
Unicon XV will be the first time a southern hemisphere country has hosted the biannual event.
Promoters say the 11-day programme will include a parade of nations and disciplines as varied as hockey, basketball, track and field, artistic freestyle trials and a full marathon.
Events will be held at the waterfront, Newtown Park, Mt Victoria and Miramar Peninsula.
