Earthquake shakes Gisborne

An earthquake measuring 4.3 on the Richter scale has been felt in the Gisborne area early today.

The quake struck at 5.01am and was centred 30km south-east of Gisborne at a depth of 40km.

GNS Science  said the tremor was likely to have been felt around the Gisborne region.
