Two charged with assault over balcony fall

Two men have been charged with assaulting a man critically injured after a fall from a balcony in Auckland last night.
The man, in his 50s, remained in a critical condition in Auckland Hospital after the fall from the balcony of a flat about 7pm in the Auckland suburb of Glen Innes.
The two men were arrested last night and held in custody before they appeared in the Auckland District Court today on assault charges.
Police could not say if further more serious charges would be laid.
A police guard remained on the flat overnight.
