Pedestrian hit by car dies

A man is dead after being hit by a truck in the south Auckland suburb of Mangere today.
The man was on Gadsby Rd when he was struck by the vehicle shortly before midday, police said.
His name would not be released until police had contacted next of kin.
The police serious crash unit, commercial vehicle investigation unit and the Department of Labour were investigating.
