Pilot unhurt after emergency landing

A pilot of a small plane emerged unscathed after an emergency landing on Papamoa Beach near Mount Maunganui this afternoon.
Mount Maunganui fire service officer Gerry Mills said the male pilot was fine and executed a perfect landing after an apparent malfunction.
The beach was deserted at the time of the landing.
