Tutor hurt in oxygen tank explosion

A 25-year-old tutor from a New Plymouth polytech was rushed to hospital after oxygen escaped and exploded from a tank he was changing this afternoon.
Witnesses said they heard a "f***ing big boom" and rushed out to see the man with badly burned arms and face.
The tutor was thought to be holding a welding class at the Western Institute of Technology at the time.
He was immediately rushed away in an ambulance.
