Concern for missing Auckland woman

Police worried about the welfare of a missing Auckland woman say there may have been a sighting of her car in the Bay of Plenty town of Waihi but the woman is still missing.
Susan O'Brien, 36, from the Auckland suburb of Three Kings, failed to turn up at work last Wednesday and police said her last communication with friends and family had led to growing concerns for her safety.
Sergeant Megan Dalton from the Balmoral police in Auckland said today they were following up sightings of the woman's car in Waihi yesterday but had not found Ms O'Brien or any indication of where she may be.
"We are following up sightings of the vehicle. That's all I can say," said Ms Dalton.
"We are still looking for the whereabouts of both her and the vehicle."
Police said on Friday the woman's disappearance was out of character.
She was believed to be driving a silver Toyota Rav 4, registered number ETC964.
She was a slimly built European woman with shoulder-length dark hair and was 155cm tall.
Police said anyone who had seen her or her vehicle in the past few days should call Ms Dalton or Constable Fred McGraw on 027 2439895.
