Missing Auckland woman Susan O'Brien spent two nights in the small Bay of Plenty town of Waihi and police are urging her to call them or family members and tell them she is safe and well.
Ms O'Brien, 36, from the Auckland suburb of Three Kings, was last seen last Wednesday and police fear for her safety as a result of her last communication with her family and friends.
Her car was later sighted in the Bay of Plenty town of Waihi and police said today they now knew that she spent two nights in the town.
Sergeant Megan Dalton said it was out of character for her to be out of contact with her family.
She is described as a slimly built, 155cm tall European woman with shoulder-length dark hair.
She was driving a silver Toyota Rav 4, registered number ETC964.
Anyone who had seen her or her vehicle in the past few days should call police, Ms Dalton said.
