An elderly woman collapsed and died at an Auckland supermarket this evening.
The woman was found on the floor of the Sylvia Park Pak N' Save in Mt Wellington shortly after 4pm, police northern communications Inspector Matt Rogers said.
"It seems to be purely a medical situation, the (supermarket) staff had a chance to review the security footage and the woman's basically collapsed and banged her head on the ground," he said.
"Initially the circumstances weren't clear... she had some blood coming from her head which is consistent with a blow, obviously they had to clarify what the circumstances were and the footage on the tapes did that."
