A homicide investigation has been launched following the death of a 29-year-old woman after reports of an altercation at a Manurewa address overnight.
Counties-Manakau police have arrested 32-year-old woman on a charge of assaulting the deceased person and she will appear in the Manakau District Court tomorrow. More serious charges may follow.
Police said they launched a homicide investigation after being called to an altercation at the address and discovering the dead woman on arrival.
A number of people at the address have been assisting police with their inquiries.
Police, however, are not seeking anyone else in relation to this incident and are appealing for anyone who was at the party and who has not yet been spoken to by police to call the Counties-Manukau Police.
