Armed Offenders Squad situation ends quickly

Police looking for firearms searched a rural property in the Wairau Valley in Marlborough today.
They went to the property, about 70km from Blenheim, about 10am, acting on information received.
The armed offenders squad attended in order to clear the property of any occupants and to search for firearms believed to be there.
A police spokesman said a 48-year-old man has presented himself at the Blenheim Police Station in relation to the incident.
Inquiries were continuing and charges were likely.
