The teenage victim of a vampire-style attack claims he saw two of his alleged assailants sucking his blood and "I thought the life was leaving me".

The victim, whose name is suppressed, said he met James Brooks, 22, James Orr, 19, and Xenia Borichevsky, 19, outside TimeZone in Manners Mall in Wellington on February 20.

The victim's allegations of what happened that night are contained in a written statement, filed in court for a commital hearing and obtained by The Dominion Post.

The three are charged with wounding with intent to render a person unconscious. Brooks has now pleaded guilty and has been remanded for sentencing.

The victim said he had been with a friend and planned to have some drinks. He thought Borichevsky's name was Amelia.

They decided to go to Orr's place to drink. A bottle of vodka was bought in Dixon St before they walked through the Hataitai bus tunnel to Orr's place, where they began drinking.

The victim said Brooks, whom he knew as Jimbo, was getting pushy but it had all been in good fun. They bought more alcohol at the bottle store in Taurima St and about 10.30pm decided to go back to town, walking via Mt Victoria.

When they got to a clearing, one of the others said they should sit and have a break.

"The moment I sat down I was grabbed from behind and put in a choke hold. I didn't see who did this but it would have been Jimbo because Amelia [Borichevsky] was off to my left and I could also see James."

The victim said there was a forearm around his neck.

He raised his arm to try to stop Jimbo, but it made the choke hold tighter.

Brooks then began to bite him. "I thought the life was leaving me," he said, and he began to lose consciousness.

The victim said Brooks was biting his left forearm. "This bite drew blood and James sucked my blood as it bleed [sic]."

He felt a sharp pain in his neck and chest shortly after.

The victim woke to find the trio sitting around and did not know for how long he had been unconscious.

He saw bite marks on his chest and arm, which were bleeding and swollen. He was in a lot of pain.

The group then walked into town. The victim said he felt shellshocked. He ran into two friends near Cuba St's bucket fountain where he showed them the bite marks and scratches, before getting a taxi home.

The next day the bite marks were still very painful and the bite on his chest developed an infection. He was admitted to Wellington Hospital, where he spent five nights.

The victim said he had thought of Orr, the ex-boyfriend of a mate, as a friend.

"As a result of the incident I was completely thrown and it completely changed the way I feel about things and look at the world."

Dr Natasha McKay said she treated the victim at Wellington Hospital for multiple bites to his arms, torso and neck. One, near his right nipple, was infected, had yellow ooze and needed treatment with antibiotics.

Orr and Borichevsky have been committed for trial and are due to reappear in court next month.
