Traffic on Wellington urban motorway is slowed to a crawl after a vehicle lost a pane of glass and kept going.
A number of cars are reported to have had tyres punctured because of the spill, which happened about 2.30pm on a northbound lane near the Aotea on-ramp.
NZTA operations manager for Wellington Mark Owen said two lanes were initially closed after the spill, which caused "mayhem".
However, all lanes were now open and traffic was moving slowly.
