Eight tourists hurt in West Coast crash

Eight Indian tourists were injured when their mini van ploughed into a culvert at Kumara, 25km south of Greymouth, yesterday.

Three ambulances and the Solid Energy rescue helicopter ferried the injured to Grey Hospital and two women, aged 36 and 40, with serious injuries were later flown to Christchurch Hospital.

The accident is being investigated.
