The Labour Party has reopened nominations for Auckland's Botany electorate after candidate Brenden Sheehan withdrew because of illness in his family.
"While we are sorry to lose Brenden from this position we accept and support his decision to give priority to his family needs, the party said in a statement.
Mr Sheehan is the spokesman for the Muliaga family who have been in the news since Folole Muliaga died after her oxygen machine failed when her power was cut off.
Nominations for the seat would close on June 20.
