The man was charged over attacks on two young women in inner city Auckland parks on August 30 and October 6.
The court was told he had yet to tell his family or speak to his lawyer and he was remanded in custody until October 23.
The charges included rape, sexual violation, attempted sexual violation, abduction and theft against the women aged 18 and 19.
Both victims had been told of the arrest, police said yesterday.
