Man dead after domestic incident named, woman charged

Police have named a man who died at a house in an apparent domestic incident in the Hastings suburb of Flaxmere yesterday afternoon.
He was James Raymond Harris, known as Jamie Harris, 31, from Napier.
Police have charged a Hastings woman with assault following the discovery of Mr Harris' body.
Police were called to the address around 4.40pm after reports a man was unconscious but when they and ambulance staff arrived the man was dead.
Hastings CIB said the 22-year-old woman had been charged "in relation to events that occurred at the address prior to police arrival".
Detective Sergeant Dave de Lange said the man's death appeared to be the result of a domestic incident and not the result of gang violence.
A post mortem examination was being carried out today to determine Mr Harris' cause of death.
