A Napier teenager risked his friends' lives when he chose to flee from police, allegedly reaching speeds of up to 185kmh yesterday, police say.
But he failed to get away and after an eight-minute chase the 18-year- old had his vehicle impounded, his licence suspended and will appear in court this week facing driving charges.
The incident took place shortly after midnight with a female and male passenger, both aged 17.
