LATEST: Wellington police have removed two items from a home in Lyall Bay after being called to investigate suspicious packages there.
"The incident in Lyall Bay has been resolved as best as possible at this stage. We have removed two items from a home that will now be taken away for further testing."
Police would not confirm what their concerns were regarding the two items, but said Sutherland Rd had been reopened following investigations.
Neighbour Laura McDonald said police informed residents just after 2pm that they were investigating several suspicious packages delivered to a property.
"They didn't want to say much, but said they had to check that the packages weren't toxic or anything."
The lower end of Sutherland Rd was cordoned off by police and residents were asked to stay inside.
