RISING ABOVE IT: Work goes on at Nelson's port despite thick fog.
Relevant offers
A thick fog blanket fell down to street level and seemed to smother the Nelson on Monday evening.
However, the heavy low-lying cloud yesterday evening caused few disruptions for most.
From about 5pm yesterday the fog hung low down to street level around the port and city.
It meant some flights were unable to depart or arrive into Nelson airport, but all flights were operating today since the fog has lifted.
The MetService predicts clear skies are ahead and has forecast fine, sunny days for the remainder of the week, allowing the region to dry out from the weekend’s wet weather downpour.
