A man accused of exposing himself in public was caught with his pants down while allegedly performing another indecent act in Hamilton yesterday.
Hamilton police sergeant Murray Stapp said the man, 20, was arrested after a series of indecent exposures were reported.
Police received an initial complaint from a woman who said she witnessed a man acting indecently along the river walkway, near Ann St, about 10am.
"The woman had walked past a man when he turned around and began following her. When she turned around she saw the man had exposed himself and she ran away to raise the alarm," Mr Stapp said.
"Officers converged on the area to try and locate the man and one of our staff found him in the middle of carrying out another indecent act for which he was arrested."
He said while the man was being processed two more members of the public rang with complaints about his behaviour.
A Hamilton man has been bailed to reappear in Hamilton District Court on August 13 on three charges of carrying out an indecent act.
