Nearly a day after he disappeared, police have found a four-year-old Porirua boy.
Bruce Mackintosh, 4, was last seen at his home in Esk Place, Cannons Creek about 9pm yesterday.
Police in cars had been scanning neighbouring streets while search and rescue teams were searching nearby Cannons Creek School and Cannons Creek Lakes Reserve on foot. A canine unit had also joined the search.
However, a short time ago police said they had found the boy in the neighbouring suburb of Tawa.
Earlier, a member of the police search and rescue team said it was unclear how far Bruce could have wandered.
"I think given the circumstances, public sightings are our best bet - the reality is, with the information we've got, he could be anywhere."
Police did not say at what address Bruce had been found.
