The second-largest Big Wednesday prize has now jackpotted higher after no one was lucky enough to pick up the winning ticket for last night's draw.
The prize now stands at $18 million, including a Lamborghini and Audi, a Rayglass boat, an extra $675,000 cash toward a bach, a $50,000 credit card and $50,000 of luxury travel.
Big Wednesday was at its second-equal biggest prize with last night's draw of $16 million. The largest prize was in 2009 when a Masterton family syndicate took home $36 million.
Before that, Big Wednesday jackpots had not surpassed a $13 million prize won in 2006. Just in March this year, an Auckland ticket holder won $10 million.
The Lotteries Commission is also celebrating its 25th anniversary and will be sharing out an extra $7.5 million worth of prizes to some lucky Lotto ticket buyers.
Since Lotto's first draw in August 1987 NZ Lotteries has made 400 overnight millionaires and has given away $7 billion in prizes to more than 300 million winners.
